Something for me! or A new baby! (not that sort!!)

You know what? I bought myself a present. I am generally not an 'over consumer'. I like op shops.
But when I feel the need for something, I like to have it! (of course!)

A couple of years ago I bought myself a professional Kitchen Aid, I make bread in it and
I love it. It replaced poor old Ken ( Robs Mums old Kenwood Chef ) I consider it to be child # 7..

Numbers 1,2 and 3 are my own children, then there's Jade and Rach (#'s 4 and 5) my faux daughters and Clancy (Griffins best mate) is # 6, Kitchen Aid is #7...just to clarify!

And so, I have a new baby, child #8. A Canon 550. Oh my     a w e s o m e     !

I have also started an ecourse (never done anything like that before!)
with Erin from http://bluebirdbaby.typepad.com/. Its a 6 week photography course.
I have switched my camera to manual and I am loving it!

Something for me, no one needs to share it with me.
.mine.

Heres a couple of photos for you :)

That look is a  'Mum......thats like the 20th picture.....can you stop now?'

Oh so much fun!

Mums and Dads are such good sharers......

but what is something you keep for yourself?
We all need a little something of our own don't you think?

and....I have been working so hard on a big secret project! (can't share yet though!) I have done my part now, so its up to the universe now to make it happen.  I hope to get back to blogging more regularly now I have a weeny bit less on my plate!

Our Freebie Day

I like to consider public holidays 'freebie days', no school and no work gives us an extra day to hang out together!  I usually try and find something special to do.....
Apparently there was a horse race on today.......yeh whatever! We took the opportunity to check out our new park in the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, and the verdict is.......AWESOME!!!!!
I was really worried when they first announced they were going to pull down the old playground and replace it, thinking there was a possibility we would be getting some huge plastic horror. I and probably many others have been so surprised at just how fantastic it has turned out.

More lovely trees planted and heaps of seating for parents...

A real looking house cubby house, chimney and all

This is a view of inside the cubby you can see in the picture above

Some crazy mirrors!

And you know which one we liked better!

Interesting sculptures, these acorns are under a huge Oak Tree

Leaf shapes punched in the side of the metal fort

Marbles!

Chairs carved out of huge tree trunks

This hammock would have to have been the absolute favourite of all the kids at the park today! We were lucky enough to bump into some good friends enjoying the park as well, they had a great time swinging each other over and over again!

One of the many historic and massive trees we are blessed with

On the way home from our visit to the park we stopped at an open garden I have visited many times, its such a oasis in what can be an incredibly dry and barren area. The garden is named Luxori and is it can be found in Barkers Creek. Margaret and Max have transformed their home into a paradise as you will see!

The lovely Miss Colly, my Sister in Law

Avalon took a picture of Possum the cat, apparently she was a very important part of the day :)

I am going to sleep well tonight with out a doubt, but a great day and some heavenly spring weather!

Did you watch the race? or did you too have an adventure!

Taking it Easy........

'Taking it Easy' leaves a lot of time for pondering and.........

Time to spend knitting myself something (nearly finished!)

to be thankful for furry company!

Feel happiness when I see the outdoor kitchen Avalon and Zara play in

The chance to see what Spring is doing in my garden, and bid farewell to my fav Hellebores

Cut and iron those gifts ready to be sewn

Poach Mummas chookie eggs for my lunch (thanks to Colly for her poaching advice!)

and bake the loaf to go with our dinner

Ahhhhh here's to taking it easy.....just for this week :)

I have had time to fiddle about with the blog, many people were unable to comment because of some crazy blogger problem, so I have tweaked and poked, fingers crossed it will work better now!! It will look a bit different and hopefully soon I can make it so you can sign in with Facebook (when their page works!?), on give it a try!
